However, once we see him as his private self, at home with his wife, we see how truly vulnerable he is. As his wife warns him not to go out, he tries to redefine the omens as good signs. He's not sure if he believes himself and his defense weakens. When the conspirators come to get him, their agreement with him bolsters his ego and he decides to go.
